New Babes in the Family
I picked up the book a little over a month ago and I CANNOT stop making these dolls! The first two were made for my 5 year-old daughter for her birthday and she asked me to make one to give to her best friend.

Adahlia Adahlia (my daughter has a thing for double names)is the blonde in the orange and yellow hoodie. She was knit in a wool cotton blend and I used Jo-Ann Sensations Angel Hair Yarn that I got from my knitting group's scrap swap. I wasn't thrilled with the ungainly size and shape of the head so I adjusted the pattern to 24st wide in the head and only 11 rows of stockinette, a much rounder head. You can see the difference in the second doll, Aluna.

I called this one Diana Ross while I was working on her. The Hair! Her body was worked in a wool blend - again from the scrap swap and the hair is a bulky acrylic. Thanks to a very early post I attached the hair like scarf fringe - great idea!

The last doll we called Rachel because thats who it was for. My daughter picked out the yarns for the body, Lion Brand Micro-spun in French Vanilla and Lion Brand Jiffy in pastel yellow for the hair. My 3 year-old has already attached herself to the body parts that I've made for the 4th doll and has given it the name Keekee. I'll post as soon as I'm done with her. You are all amazing and I'm so glad to be a part of the Knitted Babes craze!
