Quick question

I'm just about ready to sew up my first doll and I have a question about how everyone attached the hair.

I'm probably being a bit thick here but the way I understand it you cut lengths of yarn and secure them in the center. When you attach the bundles are they lined up from the crown to the nape vertically or is each bundle laid across the top of the head and either sweep the ends back or cut bangs?

Thanks!

Erin,
I attached the hair like scarf fringe. One strand at a time partially pulled through a knit stitch just forming a loop. Then pull the long tails through the loop and tighten. It takes about an hour to do the whole head but you get a realistic hairline and combable hair - with a very wide-tooth comb. Good luck and don't forget to post a pic of the finished doll!

Thanks so much! That actually makes a lot of sense. Then you have hair actually going down the back of the head so if you creat a ponytail or pigtails you don't have the doll looking like they are the lead singer from Living Colour (not that that's a bad thing and I actually liked the group!)

I'll post when she's finished.

You may also want to try knitting the back of the head in the same color as you plan to make the hair so it will blend in better
