My Nameless Babe...

I finally finished my first babe. I had a lot of fun with it and I'm looking forward to making another. So far, she is nameless while I wait for my daughter to think up a name for her.

I used Knitpicks palette for all the knitting and found some great material at Michael's craft store to make her pants for thirty cents. Gotta love a bargain.

Belle Rosa Boston

This is Belle Rosa Boston - named by the same four-year-old who picked out Cindy Jewel. She is en route from Boston to Arizona to wish a young cousin Happy Birthday. It was hard to let her go after a frantic effort to get her done on time for the big day. I sewed her clothes because it was faster than knitting. I am planning to send a long some additions to her wardrobe in a few days.

Cindy Jewel

Please allow me to introduce Cindy Jewel. She was so named by my 4-year-old who also picked out the yarn for the doll, the dress, the sweater and (of course) the hair. I wouldn't have thought of purple, but I think it worked out quite well. Now she wants more so Cindy Jewel can have "lots and lots" of friends!

Geisha-esque...

This here's my challenge outfit. I finally finished it! I went with a geisha inspired theme and this time around, only used those elements that fit in from the packet, rather than trying to use them all.

Back view...

I used the chopsticks as the parasol handle and wrapped the seam binding lace around it, though you can't see those details very well. I used the shimmery petals as the parasol top and embroidered around the wire frame with the embroidery thread.

Originally, I had wanted to use the pink petals to create an entire gown, but as time wore on and I was quickly running out of it, I opted for a simple fan.

And that's pretty much all she wrote folks. No fuss, no muss, lots of pins. Until later...

Challenge Result Ensemble

Hi, This is Clementine's latest ensemble which I am calling her Phoebe (from Friends) Peasant Chick outfit. The flower is actually her purse, and I have to say that it was my favourite item to craft. This was a fun challenge, although I am afraid that I didn't push myself nearly as far as Marti did. Great work Marti!
