Bee Boppin' Along

I knitted Bee Bop from a kit sent from Knitted Babes in England. All of the materials were included, but no mistakes could be made due to a sparse amount of extra supplies. She looks great "standing up" because all of her clothes are oversized. She just beebops through life.

Greta Grabowski

Greta spends her Sundays cheering on her favorite football team and reminisces about Da Coach taking Da Bears to the Superbowl.

and I'm still knitting new dolls...

Here you can see all five Babes, but if you want to see one by one you may have a look here

Meet Katie

Hello everyone!

My name is Andie and I'm a knit geek. I originally picked up the Knitted Babes book to make the clothes in the book for my daughter's Groovy Girl dolls. My LYS has a KB sample and Maggie always makes a beeline for her and holds her the entire time I'm there. So, I caved and bought yarn to make our own KB. Thus, Katie was born. I'm not a sewer, but I'm trying for the sake of Katie's modesty. I've only tackled the top and a skirt.

I've had some difficulties with hair lushness and my lame-o attempts to attach it. I did that twice. Now Katie's poor head is heavy with luxiourious locks and she folds ever so dramatically at the neck if Mags isn't holding her by her head :) I overstuffed her neck a bit to counter the problem, but poor Katie looks like she has a thyroid problem and regularly oozes neck stuffing. That's quite an affliction, let me tell you. I knit a sassy little scarf to cover her up a bit. She's sensitive about it. :p

I was told there were a few posts on using a spoon in the neck to help that. I got rather sidetracked with the many posts and after seeing several adorable KB's I lost my train of thought and looking for neck and hair fixes.

Everyone's KB's are so adorable and I love the stories behind them all!

I humbly introduce Katie. She is a fun loving gal with energy to spare. Katie has never met a stranger she can chat up anyone at any time about any subject. She loves donning lipgloss, eyepatch and a sword while jumping on her scooter to get the bad guys. She loves books, the outdoors, playing on the beach and Disneyland. Her favorite meal out is sushi and at home it's "chicken on the bone", rice and broccoli. She's a very good eater, not picky at all. Katie loves to travel and when the weekend rolls around she always wants to know where we're going next or who we have plans to see. Her favorite band is Green Day and she thinks Weezer's Island in the Sun is pretty groovy too. Katie is about to bridge to a Brownie Girl Scout and loves her sister scouts. Katie takes alot of pride that her mom is the troop leader. Katie thinks its pretty fun to watch the movie Zathura while playing the board game Zathura. Katie has a very contagious laugh and can cheer anyone up with a joke.*

*yes, Katie bears a striking resemblance to my daughter Maggie, only Mags doesn't have the overstuffed floppy neck :D

Cheers!

Partially Finished Babe...aka,,,Babe in Progress!

I couldn't wait for the jeans...so, here is the first photo shoot pics of my new Babe...

I am making the jeans as I said...and am currently knitting her some panties...the lace ones in the book, but I really wanted the panties on DD Diva, but sadly I cannot find that pattern. She also has a scrunchie in her ponytail. I feel like a little girl again making her. :) I painted her eyes, but I am not good at these picture things, so they can't be seen very well, sorry.

Question about shoes...

Hello everyone. I am new to the group and to the Knitted Babes Book. I bought the book on Tuesday, and have so far made the Babe...the cardigan and flip flops for her. However, I would love to make her gym shoes...does anyone know how I would knit them??? Any help would be appreciated...Thank you.

As soon as the jeans are done for my babe, I will post a picture...
