Greta (naked)
This is Greta. She is a spicy, long-haired diva who loves to play the piano! Her arm span amazes her teacher. She has no clothes but the socks on her feet, for now (she spent all of her extra cash on the piano lessons!). Her head is made with the girl pattern in Dream Toys so it is a little more round/heart-shaped than most of her peers.
She was knit on size 3mm needles which I got with my dot pebbles kit. I believe that this size is a bit inbetween a size 2 and 3. This worked perfectly because the yarn was a bit thicker than I'm accustomed, and I believe a tad larger than fingering weight. I'm not sure about this, however, because Greta turned out the same size as my other dolls, knit on regular size 2 needles and fingering weight.
If you want the pattern for the socks, please comment and I will write back ASAP.

Wow, cute! And I'd love to see a sock pattern for the babes! I've been wanting to make some socks for my own little dolls, but I couldn't wrap my head around how to do it (short of knitting the bottom of the legs a different color, lol).
Also, what yarn did you use for her hair? It looks sort of curly/wavy, very cute!
Sock Pattern
Uses fingering weight yarn and size = or < 4 dpn.
- CO 9 stitches (beg. @ toe end)
- Divide evenly on a 3 dpn
- Knit in the round for 2.5"
- Bind off
- sew the cast on end together for the toe of the sock.
I folded the tops of the socks over to make them look more comfortable. It only takes about an hour to create a pair.
The yarn I used for the hair was Araucania Nature Cotton. I've never heard of it before, but it varies in circumference and thickness, so I thought it would be a good choice for a doll's hair. It also varies a little bit in color (from bright red, to lighter almost orange-y), but it's difficult to tell this from the picture. I don't know if you can tell from the picture, but I also put random two braids in the hair to make it a bit more piece-y looking. I avoided making the hair too thick, (which I've done on past dolls) because I noticed in the books that the babes
have a bit of cute baldness.
